Tai Chi 8 Forms – Basic Techniques

Program Objectives
This programme aims to equip participants with the ability to learn the fundamental principles of Tai Chi
and the 8 Form sequence
from start to finish.
Through monthly live classes and in-between-class practice videos, you will be able to progress at your own pace and get started with Tai Chi practice.
The programme consists of a total of 8 live sessions.
Application videos andreview exercise videos will be sent
after each session.
This will allow you to work independently using the materials provided between sessions.

| Meeting 1: Introduction & Basic Principles | The philosophy of Tai Chi (Taoism), the fundamentals of breathing and posture |
| Meeting 2: Form 1 – First Step | The first movement of the 8 Forms + transitions, posture balance |
| Session 3: Form 2 – Fluid Transitions | 2nd movement + connections, coordination |
| Session 4: Form 3 – Turns and Flexibility | 3rd movement + turning exercises |
| Session 5: Form 4 – Continuity | 4th movement + emphasis on fluidity |
| Session 6: Form 5 – Strength and Centring | Movement + centre line work |
| Session 7: Form 6 – Advanced Transitions | Movement + transition techniques |
| Session 8: Forms 7 & 8 + Integration | Movements 7 and 8, application of the entire form from start to finish |
